Creating Workspot Cloud Desktop Pool on Azure

Creating Workspot Cloud Desktop Pools on Azure     Add pools with the "Resources > Desktop Pools > Add Pool" button. Desktop pools can be created by Control users with full Administrator access. To create a desktop pool    1. Log into Workspot Control. 2. Click “Resources > Cloud Desktop Pools > Add Pool.” The “Create Your Cloud Desktop Pool” page appears. Fill in the form as described below. Note: Fields marked with an asterisk (*) are required. 3. Select Datacenter/Cloud. Select the Workspot Cloud Config configured for Azure. 4. Desktop Pool Type. Selects a pool of either persistent or a non-persistent desktops. Persistent desktops are allocated permanently to a single user. Non-persistent desktops are reallocated between user sessions. 5. *Select Template. Selects the desktop image template to use for the desktops.  Ignoring the search field, click the “Search” button to display the “Select a Template” popup.  In the “Select a Template” popup, click the “Search” button

Creating a Gateway Cluster in Azure Building Gateway Clusters Gateway Policy Prior to creating a Gateway Cluster, you will need to create a Gateway Policy. To do this login to Control and navigate to Policies and click on ‘Add a new Policy’.    Provide a name for your Gateway Policy and select ‘Gateway’ as the Policy type. The default Policy has no Overrides defined and as you see in the example below if you want to enable an override just simply select the ones you want to add a check mark. Click ‘Add Policy’ when complete.                         Now we are ready to create a Gateway Cluster.  Create Gateway Cluster A Gateway Cluster is a highly available construct that contains the Gateway Server virtual machines for a given region. These gateways provide secure access to the Cloud PCs. To scale the cluster just add more gateways as needed. Creating Workspot Templates in Azure

Creating Workspot Templates in Azure Template Creation In Azure, Workspot supports creating Azure Marketplace VMs from Workspot Control. To create a template, login to Workspot Control and navigate to Setup > Cloud and click on the Cloud Subscription where you want to create the template.                                       This will take you to where the templates for a given cloud provider are managed. Click on ‘Build Template’ to start the process.    Step through the selections as shown in the screenshot below.                                                 The region also includes the virtual network where the template will be created. Choose whether this will be a desktop template or an RDS Server template. Select the OS build and provide a name for the template. The Template VM selection applies a base vcpu, ram and disk size. Creating a Service Principal in Azure   Register the Workspot Application In the Azure Portal under Azure AD select ‘App Registrations’ and click on ‘New Registration’ Fill out the page as shown below and click on register.                              The next step is to select the App you just created and then select ‘Certificates & secrets’ to set the key and the key expiration.        Create the Client secret and set the expiration date and make sure you retrieve the secret key value before leaving the page. This secret key value is referred to as the ‘Application Key’ in Control. To create the Service Principal in Control you will need the following information.  Subscription ID  Application ID  Application Key  Tenant ID  Provide Permissions to the Workspot App The next step is to go into IAM on the Workspot Subscription to add the Workspot app so that control can connect to the IaaS in the targeted Subscription only. Click on ‘Add’ and search for the WorkspotApp
