Overview

When autolaunch is enabled, the Client dashboard is hidden and the user is connected immediately to the sign-in dialog of their Workspot desktop or app. This occurs only when user is entitled to exactly one desktop or app. Otherwise, the Client dashboard is displayed normally so they can choose which Workspot resource to launch.

The Workspot Client dashboard is not fully hidden: the user still sees it after exiting their Workspot desktop or app.

Autolaunch is currently supported in the Workspot Windows Client and the Workspot Web Client, with other Clients to follow.

Autolaunch is disabled by default in Control. It can be enabled in the "Utility Rules" section of the user's Security Policy.

It can also be disabled by the Client users as follows:

  • On the Workspot Web Client, is bypassed by using an alternate URL, one that includes the "autolaunch=no" URL option. For example, https://web.workspot.com/subdomain?autolaunch=no.
  • On the Workspot Windows Client, there is a checkbox to disable autolaunch. If the checkbox is grayed out, autolaunch is disabled in Control for that user.

Best Practices

It’s best to enable Autolaunch only for groups of users who all have only a single Workspot desktop or app. That way they all get the same user experience.
