Workspot Announcement: Upcoming Mandatory Azure NVIDIA GPU Driver Upgrade

Who is Affected

 

Workspot customers using NVIDIA NVadsA10-v5 GPUs on the Microsoft Azure Cloud.

 

What is Changing

 

Affects Azure GPU VMs and templates only.

  1. Microsoft Azure is upgrading their NVIDIA drivers on NVadsA10-v5 Series virtual machines to vGPU driver 17.x starting after May 31st, 2024.
    • This means that Azure will use the 17.x version of the NVIDIA Virtual GPU Manager.
    • Your Workspot desktop and template VMs must use a compatible NVIDIA Windows or Linux driver.
  2. Azure VMs using drivers older than vGPU 16.x are no longer supported by Azure.
  3. Unsupported VMs may stop working.

Action Required

  • Check your current driver versions on your Azure a10-equipped Workspot Desktops and their templates.
  • Upgrade drivers older than 16.x to version 16.x by May 31, 2024.
