Customer Advisory: Sign-in Changes with Control 18.2

What is Changing

Starting with Control 18.2 on April 20, 2024, the sign-in process for Workspot Control will change:

  1. The Company Identifier must be provided to sign in to Workspot Control, just as it is for Clients (see Now Required: Company Identifier Field for Clients).
  2. https://control.workspot.com is no longer the preferred sign-in URL.
  3. If Control sign-in via Entra ID (Azure AD) or SAML sign-in are enabled, one of these becomes the default sign-in method at the URLs above.

Starting around late July, unsupported Workspot Clients will stop working:

Legacy Clients do not support data sovereignty and URL changes and will not work once Control enforces their use.

Additional information will be available soon.

Actions Required

1. Company Identifier

  • Make sure your Control administrators know your Company Identifier and are prepared to provide it when signing into Control.

2. New Preferred URLs

Bookmark your new preferred URLs:

Backward Compatibility. The previous sign-in URLs (https://control.workspot.com and so on) will continue to work in most cases. See our section on Backward Compatibility for details.

3. Internet Firewalls

If you restrict outgoing HTTPS (TCP port 443) traffic, additional DNS subdomains and URLs need to be allowed through your Internet firewalls. Access via legacy URLs will be redirected to one of these.

Most addresses have increased from a single variation to three: as in “control.workspot.com,” “control.eu.workspot.com,” and “control.us.workspot.com.” The “us” and “eu” versions match the two regional Control instances.
